GAA & Ulster Scots Traditional Night
Armagh County Board are hosting a very special cultural event which will showcase the GAA’s finest Scór performers alongside artists from the Ulster Scots Tradition.
This unique event ‘Hooley at Navan’ will take place on Friday 21st October at 8pm in the Navan Centre in Armagh. All media and photographers welcome.
This flagship initiative has been led by Armagh GAA’s Cultural Committee and hopes to embrace the two differing cultures and music traditions.
Speaking ahead of the event Chairman of Armagh County Board Paul Duggan said, “We are very proud to host this special cultural event which we hope will showcase the very best of our culture and tradition while embracing the Ulster Scots tradition.
“The evening will intertwine Irish traditional music, song and dance with Irish Scots music and song. It’s sure to be an evening not to be missed.
“We hope that this initiative will inspire people to embrace the culture and traditions of others. It’s important that we promote our own culture but we should all respect and embrace the culture and traditions of our neighbours as well.”
‘Hooley at Navan’ is expected to be very popular and anyone interested in attending should note that admission is £5 and can be paid at the door. People are urged to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
