Bailieborough through in Faul Cup
Danske Bank Faul Cup semi-final
Bailieborough CS 2-12 Lumen Christi 2-2
THE wind had an impact on this Danske Bank Faul Cup semi-final yesterday in Garvaghey, but it is doubtful if any weather conditions would have helped Lumen Christi over the line.
Bailieborough were stronger in most areas of the pitch and were able to translate that supremacy into a match-winning position by half-time thanks to the accuracy of ace marksman Sean Kenny who hit exactly half of their 2-12 total for the first half.
Eoin Morrisey scored the first goal in the 12th minute and Lumen Christi needed a couple of early scores with the aid of the breeze to make any impact.
Paul Nicholl worked hard along with the goal-scorers Conrad Molloy and Oran McMenamin to get them back on track, but Kenny was always available for the quick ball out of defence and Bailieborough’s place in the final against Ballybay Community College was never under serious threat.
Bailieborough : Sean Kenny (1-8, 0-5 frees), Eoin Morrisey (1-1, 0-1 free), Mícheál Kenny (0-2), Ben Mulvey, Andrew Farley, Dylan Turner, Jake Norris and Cian Donoghue (0-1 each)
Lumen Christi : Conrad Molloy (1-2), Oran McMenamin (1-0)
