Fear Manach Club Championship Update

The Fermanagh Club Championship swings into action this weekend with ten games taking place across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior Football Championship.

In a repeat of last year’s Quarter Final, Ederney avenged their defeat by Belnaleck in Brewster Park on Friday on a scoreline of 1-11 to 2-02, a game which kick started a frantic weekend of live coverage on Fermanagh GAA TV, with 8 games in all being streamed live and the other two available on demand from Saturday evening onwards.

On Saturday, Erne Gaels take on last year’s Intermediate champions Kinawley, who have been very impressive in the league campaign to date and will be aiming to progress to the Semi Final stage at the expense of an Erne Gaels team missing a number of key men.

The remaining two Senior games are both on Sunday, with Teemore taking on Tempo in another repeat game from last year. In a reverse in positions from 2019, Tempo find themselves struggling at the bottom of Division 1 with only one win from five games whereas Teemore’s confidence will be high with five league wins from five.

At 7:00pm, there is a repeat of last year’s County Final, with Roslea hoping to catch Derrygonnelly. League form would suggest that Derrygonnelly would have too much for Roslea, but there is a big difference between league and championship.

In the Intermediate Championship on Saturday, Lisnaskea and Belcoo face-off with Maguiresbridge playing St Patrick’s Donagh in two games that are too close to call. Intermediate favourites for the third year in a row, Enniskillen Gaels will go up against an Irvinestown side with both sides knowing that a win is required to make a success of the 2020 Season. On Sunday, the final game at this grade is Devenish and Aughadrumsee in a novel pairing with both sides not having faced each other in many years.

The two games in the Junior Football Championship see Newtownbutler playing Coa and Derrylin taking on Brookeborough in a Championship that any one of the four teams could win.
