Ulster GAA - Young Leader Programme 2019

Young Leaders Programme

Ulster GAA Young Leaders Programme targets outstanding young GAA volunteers from across Ulster’s nine counties. This is an exciting and innovative programme aimed at young GAA members to build their skills and knowledge to help them become Young GAA Leaders.

Ulster GAA has opened applications for its prestigious Young Leaders Programme for this year.

Young GAA members aged 16-24 years old are welcome to apply for a place on the 2023 Programme full of activity.  Applications must be submitted by 10am on Thursday 22nd June 2023.

  • Online Workshops – July/August
  • Volunteering in your club – 12 weeks throughout July, August, September

  • Duke of Edinburgh/Gaisce Bronze Award

All participants will receive a FREE specially commissioned Ulster GAA Young Leaders 2023 Jersey and are asked to bring packed lunch, snacks and drinks to each session.  All Participants will be charged £24 to participate in the programme this covers the cost for the Joint Award Initiative (DofE/Gaisce) registration fees.  In addition to this the following charges will apply:

  • Those participating in the expedition with camping: £64 (£88 in total) to include pitch fees, tent, stoves, sleeping mat etc
  • Those participating in the expedition without camping £20 (£44 in total) to cover expedition fee

We highly recommend participants completing the expedition as this is a requirement for the final Duke of Edinburgh/Gaisce Award.  The camping element is optional this year and any young person not wishing to camp can arrange for parent/guardian to collect them and pick up both days of expedition.  The expedition will be held in Meelmore Lodge in the Mournes and full details will be provided to successful participants.
