2008 Ulster SFC Launched

usfc2008-launch.jpgThe 2008 Ulster Senior Football Championship was officially launched today at the Ramada Hotel, Belfast.

In attendance were Tom Daly, President of the Ulster Council, and representatives from the competition sponsors, Vodafone, Ulster Bank and Toyota.

Tom Daly commented:

“I would like to extend our welcome to the new multi-sponsors, Vodafone, Ulster Bank and Toyota, and also to the representatives of the Ulster Ladies Football Council who are launching their Championships in conjunction with the Senior Football Championship for the first time. We once again look forward to another summer and what promises to be one of the most open and exciting Ulster Senior Football Championships for many years.”

Along with the Football Championship, Joe Lagan and Mary Keegan, Vice-President and Secretary of Ulster Ladies Football Council were on hand to launch the 2008 Ulster Ladies Football Championships. Players from each of the nine competing Counties were also in attendance.

This was the first time that the Ladies Football Championships were launched in conjunction with the Senior Football Championship, and Joe Lagan voiced his appreciation and delight at the efforts being made with regard to Integration of the Ladies Codes in Ulster.
