‘Have A Go Day’ at Stranmillis

October 3rd, 2012

On Thursday 20th of September Ulster GAA organised and delivered a ‘Have A Go Day’ for all students attending Stranmillis University Belfast.

Third Level Officer Stephen Beattie, Regional Development Officers Shane Mc Cann and Kieran Megraw and Active Communities Coach Kevin Grieve provided opportunities to students from various backgrounds to have a go at three of our codes (Handball, Gaelic Football and Hurling).

Students attended basic coaching of a range of skills in a game based setting which were enjoyable and of great value.

Feedback from participating students experiencing Gaelic Games for the first time was that of how enjoyable, physically active and skilful our games are.

A great interest has been generated and platforms to now build upon.
