Ladies Knee Injury Workshops

January 31st, 2013

ladies-knee-injury-workshops-jan-2013Ulster Camogie and Ulster Ladies Gaelic Football have run a series of Ladies Knee Injuries Workshops this month. This topic has emerged to be a huge problem in ladies sport with women up to 7 times more likely to suffer from serious knee injuries than men.

The workshops looked at and explained the severity of knee injuries such as ACL ruptures, explaining why such injuries might occur. The course also explained how to detect predisposition to these injuries, how to correct these predisposing factors, how to manage these factors long term and how to apply these corrective exercises into your sessions. The courses across Belfast, Armagh and Killyclogher were delivered by Julie McVey of Elite Physiotherapy Cookstown and Derry Senior Camogie Physiotherapist.
