Chief Constable hosts Ulster GAA meeting
Ulster GAA President Michael Hasson, Provincial Secretary Dr. Danny Murphy and key Ulster GAA staff recently met with PSNI Chief Constable George Hamilton in Belfast to discuss a range of important issues.
Some of the key topics discussed included:
- Awareness briefings to educate student officers on the vital role of the GAA in local communities
- Ulster GAA’s Outreach programmes to engage with all sections of the community
- Health initiatives including the ‘Live to Play’ Road Safety programme, ‘Safetalk’ mental health workshops & the ‘One Punch can Kill’ programme
- Strengthening Ulster GAA’s Child Safeguarding policies & procedures
Commenting on the meeting, Michael Hasson said “We were pleased to meet with the Chief Constable and use the opportunity to exchange a range of views as well as brief him on the key activities of Ulster GAA. This was another very constructive session and we look forward to progressing our relationship with the PSNI in the future.”
