Young GAA Volunteers go behind the scenes at an Ulster Rugby game

April 23rd, 2018

Four young GAA volunteers visited Kingspan Stadium on Saturday to experience what happens behind the scenes at an Ulster Rugby game.

The initiative, part of a joint sports project between Ulster GAA, the IFA and Ulster Rugby, aims to promote good relations among sports volunteers and to develop the volunteer experience and the skills associated.

Young people from Robert Emmet’s GAC Slaughtneil & St Colms Ballinascreen, accompanied by Ulster GAA Volunteer Development Officer Ashelene Groogan enjoyed a tour of the stadium and a photo opportunity with the Six Nations and Triple Crown Trophies.

They also tried their hand at throwing a rugby ball in the Fan Zone before watching the Ulster v Glasgow game.

Ulster GAA looks forward to returning the favour and welcoming volunteers from the IFA and Ulster Rugby to one of the Senior Football Championship games this summer.
