CPC join St Killian’s in MacNamee final

Cross and Passion Ballycastle 5-6 St Patrick’s Maghera 1-0
IT WILL be a north Antrim derby final in the Danske Bank MacNamee Cup later this week after Cross and Passion Ballycastle brushed aside the challenge of St Patrick’s Maghera to join St Killian’s in the decider.
Ballycastle were a physically more imposing team and right down the spine of the team they had dominant hurlers with full-forward Callum Cane difficult to contain whether on the edge of the square or when he raced out into the space left in front of him.
Cane scored the first goal after a fine length of the field move and Cross and Passion moved into a 2-2 to 0-0 lead with a goal from Aidan Richmond following good work from Ronan Fitzgerald.
CPC’s third goal was the pick of the first half scores, Conor Donnolly finding Kalechi Agoha wide on the left wing and he picked out the unmarked Conor O’Mullan to sweep it to the Maghera net.
Cane and O’Mullan were to add a second goal each as CPC pushed forward and they ended with some excellent points from Cane (2), Richmond and Agoha while substitute Aaron Bradley scored a late consolation goal for Maghera.
