Ulster Clubs acknowledged for contribution to GAA Green Club Programme

December 6th, 2022

The GAA Green Club Toolkit was officially launched on Saturday 3rd December in Croke Park. This resource will be freely available to all GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association units and members to support the implementation of simple sustainability actions across the five areas of Energy, Water, Waste, Biodiversity and Travel & Transport.

Ulster clubs were very much to the fore throughout the pilot phase and provided valuable feedback on their efforts to audit energy usage, develop biodiversity around club walkways, introduce recycling initiatives, encourage cycling/walking to the club and conservation of water.

The Ulster Clubs included Crossmaglen Rangers, Culloville Blues, St Mary’s Rasharkin, Belcoo O’Rahilly’s, Lámh Dhearg, Strabane Sigersons, St Joseph’s Craigbane, Buncrana and Naomh Muire Íochtar na Rosann.

Applications are now open for Phase 2 and a further 75 clubs from across Ireland will be selected to take part. For further information visit gaa.ie/greenclub or contact greenclubs@gaa.ie
