Ulster GAA achieve Investing in Volunteers Standard
Ulster GAA has successfully achieved Investing in Volunteers Standard for their third successive term.
The GAA Governing Body in Ulster, is a volunteer led organisation with volunteers setting the direction and vision for the organisation. It is supported by a substantial staff base which help achieve the vision and leadership set by volunteers.
Ulster GAA President Oliver Galligan, who is a volunteer himself said:
“Earlier this year, Ulster GAA undertook the renewal process for Investing in Volunteers. This was an important piece of work for the organisation giving us an opportunity to review and update our policies and procedures around volunteering. It also helps us keep focused on the importance of volunteers to our Association. Put bluntly, without volunteers we simply would not exist.
“We are delighted to achieve this standard for a third period and we are proud to be associated with the ethos of the Investing in Volunteers Standard. I accept this award on behalf of Ulster GAA, and in particular on behalf of each and every volunteer who help makes our Association the great organisation that we are.”
Presenting the Investing in Volunteers Award to Ulster GAA, Denise Hayward, CEO, Volunteer Now said:
“We are very pleased to present the Investing in Volunteers award to Ulster GAA. This recognises the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organisation and the commitment the Ulster Council has made to making sure volunteers are well managed and have a great experience.”
