It is county final weekend this weekend in Monaghan with all three championship finals taking place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September. Teams and clubs have really enjoyed the 2020 championship format despite the restrictions of games being played behind closed doors. In fact, this year produced the same level of Championship excitement and enjoyment as supporters availed of the Monaghan GAA TV live stream to watch Championship games.
In the GreenField Foods Senior Football Championship on Sunday the 20th Scotstown and Ballybay meet at 3pm in Clones for Championship glory. Having topped the group in their leagues both teams have performed consistently throughout this campaign. In the semi-finals Scotstown overcame a strong Carrickmacross side, however Ballybay required extra time to book their place in the 2020 final after an unforgettable game against Inniskeen. With the welcomed news of some supporters allowed into games this weekend we wish to advise entry to the game will be by Ticket Only. All finals will be live streamed on Monaghan GAA TV.
On Saturday the 19th Cremartin Shamrocks and Monaghan Harps take to the field of St Tiernach Park, Clones in a bid to be crowned McElvaney Waste & Recycling Intermediate Champions. Although it’s the first time these team have met in the Intermediate Football Championship final, Monaghan Harps did achieve Intermediate championship status 17 years ago while Cremartin’s last appearance was in 1990. Cremartin after their epic semi-final battle and win against neighbours Doohamlet reached the final after extra time. Monaghan Harps pipped Emyvale in the semi-final stage with a one point win after a dramatic cliff hanger played in Scotstown. Both teams undoubtedly will empty their tanks on Saturday to ensure they will be playing in Monaghan GAA Senior ranks for 2021.

Aughnamullen and Seans McDermotts are going head to head on Saturday the 19th to gain a quick return into Intermediate ranks for 2021. Both teams having being relegated last year certainly have put every procedure in place this year ensuring their hopes of promotion. Aughnamullen defeated Oram in the Semi Final of the Universal Graphic Junior Championship in Blackhill, and Seans went down to the wire against Clones in a thrilling encounter under lights in Emyvale. These sides will leave absolutely no stone unturned in their quest to return to Intermediate ranks for 2021. We wish to advise entry to the game will be by Ticket Only.
