GAA community responds to Covid-19 crisis

In these most challenging of times GAA members the length and breadth of the province have been at the forefront of supporting people in their local communities.

The Ulster GAA Covid-19 Working Group met remotely on Friday 27th March to co-ordinate the collective response of the GAA community in Ulster to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The group will seek to link with all key stakeholders in relation to the most up-to-date information and guidance on best practice for the GAA community.

The response to the crisis by clubs and counties urging members to stay at home and in social distancing has been an example of the best of the GAA community spirit in action.

This video from the Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa club in Tyrone is just one such example of the efforts made by clubs to encourage members to take the Covid-19 crisis seriously.

Clubs are urged that any volunteer effort should adhere to the guidelines issued by the HSE and PHA.

In light of the full closure of all GAA facilities if clubs cannot continue to operate their Covid-19 Responses as before, they should see if their voluntary effort can be used by another local scheme, which can operate safely within the guidelines. Guidelines for volunteering can be viewed below
