Perfect time to avail of the Ulster GAA Club Support Programme

During the current down time for clubs across the province there is the opportunity for clubs to plan and prepare for the years ahead.

Ulster GAA’s Club Support Programme aims to assist clubs in creating and developing a sustainable club coaching and games structure.

The Club Support Programme reviews the current coaching and games structure within a club with the help of the coaches and volunteers currently working on the ground – something that can be offered remotely.

Once the review is complete a club coaching plan suitable for your club to be worked on over the next 12 months will be rolled out. The plan is then reviewed through the year to ensure it is effective.

Throughout the development of a coaching plan the aim will be to build capacity within your club through the recruitment and retainment of both players and coaches.

Ulster GAA can offer workshops on;

  • Developing a club coaching plan – would be main aspect of programme at present
  • Creating a nursery programme/ Gaelic start programme
  • Building effective club school links
  • Coaching Officer training
  • Coach mentoring programme
  • Coach the coaches workshops – individual to the clubs needs

If your club is interested in taking part in the Club Support Programme you can contact Garreth Thorton – Ulster GAA Provincial Club Coaching and Games Development Officer at garreth.thornton.ulster@gaa.ie.
