Ulster GAA celebrate 25 years of the Joint Award Initiative

Ulster GAA representatives were joined by Armagh All Ireland winning defender Paddy Burns and Ulster Wheelchair Hurler Paul Hannon recently to celebrate 25 years of the Joint Award Initiative.

Ulster GAA Vice President Michael Geoghegan and Provincial Secretary Brian McAvoy led an Ulster GAA delegation, which included five participants of the Ulster GAA Young Leaders Programme, in attending the celebration event which took place at St Catherine’s College Armagh.

Ulster GAA showcased its wheelchair games activities and highlighted the good work hundreds of young GAA members are doing in their clubs through the Joint Award by volunteering, developing their skills and participating in Gaelic Games. The event was attended by representatives of Gaisce – the President’s Award – and the Duke of Edinburgh, local politicians and dignitaries. Three Young Leaders also later attended Hillsborough Castle for a special function to celebrate 25 years of the Joint Award.
