Ulster GAA are currently one of the recipients of the Community Relations Council Core Funded Scheme.

Ulster GAA has had a strong relationship with the Community Relations Council over the last number of years, supporting Good Relations Week, T-BUC themed events, and attending CRC conferences.

Ulster GAA is very keen to promote community relations where possible and through this funding deliver a programme of activities across key council areas.

The programme includes some of Ulster GAA’s key outreach activities such as “Getting to know the GAA” talks and the “Cuchulainn Initiative”.

Good Relations Officers deliver a Schools Engagement Programme working with schools from the Controlled and Integrated sector, offering six-week blocks of GAA coaching to children who have never experienced or played Gaelic Games before.

Alongside statutory partners the Club Engagement Programme is delivered to interested GAA clubs and their young GAA members to increase their community safety knowledge, educating them on areas such as “One Punch”, CPR, Consent and Road Safety.

The unique Gaelic Games “Game of Three Halves” introduces the sports of Gaelic Football, Hurling and Rounders to primary school children from both sides of the community, in a GAA club facility.

All these activities aim to improve community relations using Gaelic Games and bringing people together.
