GAA Insurance Policies
The Association arranges annual Property and Combined Liability Insurance for affiliated units of the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association in Ireland and Britain. Cover renews on 1st October each year and is arranged through Marsh Ireland. Units must be affiliated, comply with relevant Association rules and have paid their insurance premium for cover to apply.
Property insurance provides reinstatement cover for insured events such as fire, lightning and theft, subject to policy limits, conditions and excesses. It does not cover gradual deterioration, wear and tear, defective design, materials or workmanship. Competent, appropriately insured contractors should therefore be used. Construction and facility development works must be notified in advance.
Liability insurance protects the legal liability of affiliated units, rather than individuals, in respect of covered GAA activities. Clubs must maintain an up-to-date Health & Safety Statement and site-specific risk assessments.
Failure to comply with policy terms may result in a claim being declined, leaving the affiliated unit responsible for all associated costs and awards.
