T1 – T2 (14 – 17 years)

This early stage of the player moving into a development pathway toward representing their county team can be a challenging time for the players and coaches. They now engage with peers who are equally talented, but they also start to embark on a pathway to high performance.

They will be exposed to different disciplines and they will be challenged in all areas of their development. The talent ecosystem is complex with many stakeholders and managing the player in this space can be the responsibility of many. If you or your child are in this space, work closely with the County Games Manager and the Coach to nurture and protect the talent.

If they are moved out of the squad don’t be disappointed but use it to set goals and look for entry to the performance pathway at a later stage.
